Hello

Welcome to "Shattered Reflections". This site has taken me over four and a half years to finally be able to share. My name is Krysten. I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. I grew up in Alabama along with my husband, Taylor. We joyfully moved to Texas in 2014. Shortly after we were married, we both started new careers and began growing our family. We were blessed with our son, Bennett, in February 2017. He was our new reason "why". He was the most amazing little boy and was perfectly created for our family. In June of 2018 tragedy struck and our son was taken from us. Very suddenly and very unexpectedly. This page is a way for me to share my child loss journey. The ugly, terrible and unthinkable tragedy it is. But, I also want to share the beautiful moments we still have and will continue to have as time continues moving forward. Each journey is different and each journey is unique. When I first lost Bennett I searched for answers. The why's, how's, what's and when's flooded my brain constantly. I was the first person I knew to lose a child. I was the first person a lot of my friends and family knew as well. We were all walking blindly down a path with little to no guidance. My hope with sharing my journey, my grief, my successes, my failures and my future is that I can not only help other bereaved parents but also family and friends.
